Single effect absorption cooling cycle
A single effect absorption refrigeration machine consists of an evaporator, absorber, condenser generator, heat exchanger, pumps and auxiliaries.Refrigerant Vapor, which was produced in the evaporator, is absorbed by the liquid lithium bromide in the absorber.This causes the solution to become dilute. This dilute solution is pumped through the heat exchanger where
temperature is increased and then on to the generator where temperature is further increased by steam or hot water. The solution then flows back through the heat exchanger to the absorber where it is reused. Refrigerant produced in the generator flows to the condensor where it is liquified and then sent to the evaporator for re-use. In the absorber and evaporator, liquid lithium bromide and refrigerant are sprayed on the heat exchange coils in order to incrase heat exchanger efficiency.
